WorkDrive Snap: Recording options in WorkDrive
You can now record screens, video, and audio right from within the WorkDrive app and share it with your team. You can also record offline. However, to upload the file you must be connected to the internet. Permissions and recording options vary depending on the browser and operating system. You must ensure you have provided permissions to the browser to access your camera and microphone to enable recording.

- You can record screens, audio, and videos for a maximum of 30 minutes.
- If you have exceeded the upload limit or storage limit, you can choose to download the recorded file on your device.
- We are working on extending this feature to Safari browser.
- The screen recording options are browser-specific, but the camera and audio recording options are the same for all the browsers.
Screen recording
While recording the screen, you can record audio and video along with it. Say your client and you are in different time zones and you have to share your project proposal with them. You can screen record your presentation while explaining the content to your client. Once recorded, you can save and share the link directly with your client.
The picture-in-picture option is now supported in Chrome when you record an entire screen.Chrome:
- Click the + New button in the top menu bar from My Folders or a Team Folder.

- Under the Recording menu, select Screen Recording.
The Choose what to share screen will appear. - Select an one of the following options to record your screen:
Chrome Tab - Record a particular tab from the Chrome browser.
Window - Record a screen from a different browser.
Entire Screen - Record your entire screen

- Click Share.
The screen recording menu bar will appear. - Click Start Recording.
- Click the pause button to pause and resume recording.
- Once you have completed recording the screen, click Stop Recording.
The Save Recording dialog will appear where you can preview the recording. - Rename the file name in the Name field.
- Click Change Location to save the file in the preferred folder.
Firefox:
- Click the + New button in the top menu bar from My Folders or a Team Folder.
- Under the Recording menu, select Screen Recording.
You'll receive a prompt asking you to allow your browser to view your screen. - In the Select window or screen dropdown, you can choose to share any browser window or the entire screen.

- Check the Mute website notifications box while sharing, if preferred.
- Click Allow to start sharing your screen.
The screen recording menu bar will appear. - Click Start Recording.
- Click the pause button to pause and resume recording.
- Once you have completed recording the screen, click Stop Recording.
- The Save Recording dialog will appear where you can preview the recording.
- Rename the file in the Name field.
- Click Change Location to save the file in the preferred folder.
Edge:
- Click the + New button in the top menu bar from My Folders or a Team Folder.
- Under the Recording menu, select Screen Recording.
The Choose what to share screen will appear. - Select one of the following options to record your screen:
Entire Screen - Record your entire screen.
Window - Record a screen from a different browser.
Microsoft Edge tab - Record a particular tab from the Edge browser.

- Click Share.
The screen recording menu bar will appear. - Click the pause button to pause and resume recording.
- Once you have completed recording the screen, click Stop Recording.
The Save Recording dialog will appear where you can preview the recording. - Rename the file name in the Name field.
- Click Change Location to save the file in the preferred folder.
Video recording
Share your feedback with your team directly using video recording option. Say you are reviewing a document at odd hours and want to give a detailed personal feedback. You can record your opinion and share it with your team.
By default the resolution of the videos recorded is 720p. However, you can change it to 480p or 1080p.
- Click the + New button in the top menu bar from My Folders or a Team Folder.
- Under the Recording menu, click Video Recording.
The Video Recording dialog will appear. - Click Start Recording.

- Click the pause button to pause and resume recording.
- Once you have completed the recording, click Stop Recording.
The Save Recording dialog will appear where you can preview the recording. - Rename the file in the Name field.
- Click Change Location to save the file in the preferred folder.
Audio recording
Skip taking notes in your team meetings with the audio recording option. Simply record the voice in the meeting and share it with the participants who could not make it to the meeting. This will also make it easy for you to prepare the minutes of meeting, without missing out on details.
- Click the + New button in the top menu bar from My Folders or a Team Folder.
- Under the Recording menu, click Audio Recording.
The Audio Recording menu bar will appear. - Click Settings icon next to the mic icon, choose the preferred resolution in the Resolution drop-down and click Save.
- Click Start Recording.
- Click the pause button to pause and resume recording.
- Once you have completed recording the screen, click Stop Recording.

- The Save Recording dialog will appear where you can preview the recording.
- Rename the file in the Name field.
- Click Change Location to save the file in the preferred folder.
